Darin crowned "LGBTQ of the Year" by Swedish Magazine QX

Darin won the QX prize for LGBTQ Person of the Year and Song of the Year with "En säng av rosor". These are Darin's second and third QX awards, after he won Artist of the Year in 2013. Darin commented:

"This is an invaluable award for me. Thank you for all the love and support you have shown me since I came out last year. I am so moved by the kind response I have gotten from so many of you. I really didn’t know how it was going to be received, so your nice welcome has meant a lot to me.

We all have different stories and journeys that we have gone through and I have such great respect for all LGBTQ people, because I know that it’s not always easy to be gay in a straight world. What touched me the most was when I realized how much it has helped others who went through the same thing but didn’t dare to take the step that I took. All of you who got the courage to come out or tell your loved ones, we all share this award!"

QX is the largest magazine for the LGBT-community in Sweden and Scandinavia and hosts the QX GayGala every year since 1999. This year the gala was cancelled due to some financial problems that the magazine has been facing, but the prize winners were announced in their March issue which features Darin on the cover and is available to buy on their shop.
